Satnam Singh and Salman Khan Win Historic Bronze in Rowing at Asian Games 2026
Aichi-Nagoya, September 24: Indian rowers Satnam Singh and Salman Khan won the bronze medal in the men's double sculls at the 2026 Asian Games, giving India a historic podium finish in the event.
The Indian pair clocked 6:13.25 in the final to finish third. China's Yi Xudi and Nie Yide won gold, while Uzbekistan's Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov and Pavel Sorin took silver.
Satnam and Salman were in second position at the 500m, 1000m and 1500m marks and remained close to the Chinese crew for much of the race. However, they slipped to third during the final stretch and finished with the bronze medal.
The medal is particularly significant because it was reported as India's first-ever Asian Games medal in the men's double sculls.
The result provided another boost to India's rowing campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. The performance of Satnam Singh and Salman Khan will remain one of the notable moments of India's Day 5 campaign.
