BENGALURU: The state government held a high-level review meeting to fast-track regional road connectivity, industrial express corridors, and key bypass stretches linking major manufacturing belts with Tier-2 economic centers.
The infrastructure review centered on easing freight transit along the Bengaluru–Tumakuru–Chitradurga–Hubballi economic belt. By clearing procedural bottlenecks and accelerating land-acquisition compensation for bypass links, the administration aims to de-congest commercial freight routes and attract industrial manufacturing investments outside the state capital.
Key directives issued during the meeting included:
Ensuring quality-audited civil construction on peripheral bypass corridors to eliminate chronic logistics bottlenecks.
Integrating truck terminals, digital weighbridges, and dedicated service roads around fast-growing industrial clusters.
Implementing green highway standards, incorporating mandatory rainwater harvesting along road embankments, and installing automated high-definition traffic monitoring systems.
Senior officials emphasized that timely completion of these regional industrial links will reduce transit times, lower freight costs, and create sustainable employment for rural and semi-urban youth.
