Big shock for RCB fans: Possible implementation of Covid rule..!

Bengaluru: The colorful cricket tournament Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) is taking off day by day. This time, as the match is being held at the home ground, fans are also coming to the stadium to watch the matches. Crowding of spectators in these stadiums has now worried the health department. Because after the first IPL match held in Bangalore, there has been a huge increase in the number of Covid cases. Due to this, the health department is thinking of implementing separate covid rules in stadiums.

Health Department thinking to control crowding:

The number of covid corona cases is increasing in the state including the country. On the one hand, the excitement of the election is raging, on the other hand, the IPL is also in full swing. Especially in the first match against Mumbai Indians, the crowd was packed at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

More than 35 thousand people came to the stadium to watch this match which was held on April 2. But this time no corona regulations have been followed. Amid the rise of Covid in the state, this development has also raised concerns that it may lead to an increase in corona cases. In this regard, the health department has considered implementing separate rules for stadiums.

Number of Covid cases in Bengaluru:

  • 29 March – 75 Corona cases
  • 30 March – 143 Corona cases
  • 31 March – 170 Corona cases
  • 1 April – 146 Corona cases
  • 2 April – 170 Corona cases
  • 3 April – 109 Corona cases

That means more than 100 corona cases have been recorded every day in the last 5 days. The health department is worried that this number will increase further due to non-compliance of corona rules in the stadium.

“Last time due to the presence of Covid some rules were enforced for the stadiums. It was cleared after the covid subsided. Now more than 3 thousand covid cases are being registered in the country every day. Similarly, close to 200 cases are being recorded in the state every day. In this regard, we have taken the advice of the technical advisory committee to implement the Covid rule in the stadiums," said Health Commissioner Randeep.

What rules may apply?

  1.  Mandatory vaccination for spectators coming to stadiums
  2.  Stadiums should be sanitized
  3.  Social distance must be maintained
  4. Awareness about covid should be created in stadiums
  5. Sanitation system at entry gates.
  6.  If the number of corona cases increases, more stringent rules will be enforced

Amid the rise in overall covid cases, cricket lovers are watching the IPL without fear in the stadium itself. But before the situation gets out of hand, the health department is thinking of implementing the Covid rules in the stadiums, and we have to wait and see if this rule will be enforced during the RCB match against Lucknow Super Giants to be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 10.
